Mile High Functional Medicine (MHFM) integrates the science of traditional Allopathic medicine with Functional Medicine. Allopathic medicine, in general, only treats symptoms of illness and often does not address the underlying cause of illness or disease. If symptoms need to be addressed, Mile High Functional Medicine offers that expertise. Where MHFM differs, is that we primarily seek to uncover root causes of illness. Functional Medicine is the modality that accomplishes that goal. We utilize thorough medical history assessment, active listening and laboratory testing to understand the root cause of disease. It then applies innovative, safe, effective and individualized treatment modalities to provide natural, holistic healing. We can take the best of traditional medicine to alleviate symptoms, but more importantly, put you on the path to healing with a Functional approach.

I'm happy to speak with you to answer any questions or set up an initial visit. Just click on the Patient Portal link at the top of the main page and request a visit. Or click the link to attend one of the informational webinars.
We are happy to offer free 15 minute phone consults to see if this is a good fit for you.
Your Initial Visit will be 45-60 minutes, this can be done in person, in my office or via telephone/video conferencing. We will discuss your primary health concerns, review your health history questionnaires and discuss laboratory tests recommended, and initial nutritional recommendations.
Your second visit will be an in-person Case Review. This is a 60-90 minute comprehensive visit. Prior to this visit we will review the results of your lab tests and create a Report of Findings. We will do a physical exam, discuss the patterns that have contributed to your health concerns, outline a recommended treatment plan and recommend any further testing (if necessary). If you live outside the Denver-Metro area, you must make arrangements to travel to my office for this appointment.
Once your initial treatment is underway follow up visits can be scheduled on an as needed basis, depending on your individual needs and response to treatment. I recommend a follow up visit 6-8 weeks after your Case Review to assess how your treatment is going and what adjustments may need to be made. Follow up visits can be done in person or via telephone/video conferencing.
Laboratory tests could include a comprehensive blood chemistry panel, advanced stool testing, urine hormone and adrenal testing, organic acids testing, SIBO breath testing, evaluation of methylation processes and other markers to evaluate immune status.
-Determination of labs is highly individualized and you will have the opportunity to approve these before they are ordered.

Functional Medicine appointments are very comprehensive visits with time dedicated to listening, discovery and learning. The Functional approach is designed to save money in the long term by completing appropriate diagnostic tests and assessments before treatment begins. We believe in the idea of "test, don't guess", because this approach to medicine is multidimensional, and often involves various systems that affects one's health.
-Costs of labs and supplements/medications are largely dependent on severity of your condition.
